The Morning Star

  • Practicing Luciferianism and the Isolate Path of the Individual By Michael W. Ford

Luciferianism has grown steadily since the publication of Book of the Witch Moon, Luciferian Witchcraft, The Bible of the Adversary and Adversarial Magick from 1999 through the 2000’s. Initially, my grimoires were for the select few whose philosophical and spiritual alignments existed ‘outside’ of established ‘occultism’ of the mainstream. Embracing an emerging and syncretic assimilation of techniques and practices embracing the “Adversary”, Luciferianism ascended from the groundbreaking Satanic teachings established by Anton Szandor LaVey and the Sethanic Egyptian practices of Charles M. Pace. Early on, I utilized disciplines, teachings and practices of all avenues of spirituality which could be applied from a Left Hand Path perspective.
I utilized Aleister Crowley’s Thelema and that of John Whiteside Parsons, the artist Cameron, Kenneth Grant’s Typhonian tradition, Austin Osman Spare’s Zos Kia Cultus, Buddhist and Bon Po meditation disciplines, European “Satanic” and Cainite Witchcraft traditions (partially stemming from working with Typhonian and other groups), Voodoo and Palo Mayombe trance techniques and sorcery, Heretic Ancient Persian sorcery known as Yatuk Dinoih, the medieval grimoire traditions and demonology, Hellenistic (Greco-Roman), Egyptian and the Tree of Daath from Kabbalah. When utilized with Germanic Rune Magick, LaVeyan Satanic ritual psychodrama, Sinister Path teachings, Chaos Magic and the philosophical center of the Sethanic Cult of Masks, Luciferianism slowly took shape from my antinomian trial and error practices.
More times than I could count, I was given resistance from every tradition I worked with. Being told “your wrong” consistently really put the “Left Hand Path” idea to the test. In that spectrum, I was completely alone and could only rely on myself. I trusted my instincts, I was aligned and aware of my “Daemon” and True Will. Against all odds, I practiced with both failures and success in good measure. As I forged my path, the successes in both mundane life and in my practice outweighed the mistakes. My aim was to establish an understanding of the hidden traits and virtues of the Adversary and the energy that archetype and current represented not only in history, but now in the so-called “enlightened” times.
I soon began to conceptualize what the philosophical foundations of Luciferianism and how they differed from Satanism and similar LHP schools of thought. This initiatory journey revealed some clear points which strengthened the ‘otherness’ of the path and how Luciferianism embraces and supports other traditions. I have always taken great effort to recognize and support philosophically aligned traditions, even if they proclaim disdain to Luciferianism. I have always sought to “lead by example” in resisting the petty bickering and dart throwing against what others may perceive as “rivals” in the genre.
Those who attack my works often have never read nor understood enough about Luciferianism to clearly bring valid points meriting discussion; it often is no more than profane immaturity and grade-school “name calling”. If a meaningful debate is offered, with a basic knowledge of what is being discussed, as time permits I always enjoy such diversions. If they offer empty insults with little to back their accusations, I ignore them and waste little thought on these (often) underachieving internet-occultists. If I decide to direct some sublime cruel comments or to smack them (metaphorically) back in their low place, I do such with pleasure and the joy that controlled disgust might bring.
Luciferians as I have found are as unique and different as they could possibly be: interests are different, the approach of Luciferianism will be in any point on the spectrum between rational philosophy to spiritual practices known as Magick. Many find a connection with the more Satanic approach and aesthetic; others are dedicated to disciplined Thelemic practices. As I know from my establishment of the early Witchcraft covens and works, some are devoted to the Cainite mysteries of Luciferian craft.
I find online communities and forums to be filled mainly with four types: the first being the recognized “leaders” who seem steadfast in their personalities online. They can either be Luciferian in perception or closed-off “elitists” who love to complain about anything slightly “different”. The second type are the “good” soldiers, those who embrace a specific “identity” based on their interests. They love to strive for trivial “titles” or the presumed authority to focus others to the first types’ designs. The third type are the dabblers and “trolls”: attracted as dabblers to the shallow “image” as they see it. The “trolls” simply find gratification by getting the attention of those they strive to annoy. The forth are the individualistic authoritarians: they focus on mature points of reference and don’t often spend too much time bickering or denouncing others.
Several of these types are Luciferian.
The first type are self-directed leaders who have the talent and interest for online communications. The second type are those who either have productive things going on in “real life” or like to support those who lead specific areas of interest. This does not indicate they are necessarily “followers”, they often contribute in numbers for those attempting to apply any type of chosen path. The forth type are often experienced and mature individuals who can be leaders when they find the opportunity to apply their talents or knowledge.
The dabblers and trolls are always appearing and won’t be going away: like fleas they do what their nature drives them to do. Personality deficient losers will learn just enough about their target community to get their foot in the door, then drawing attention to themselves in some shallow way. How do you establish if a person is authentic to their proclaimed path? I found by experience it is very simple: Do they live in daily life the principles or philosophy they claim to believe in?
Luciferians must be individuals to the point that there is a clear application of the 11 Points of Power, albeit uniquely to their own life. It starts in everyday routines until it is habit, once this has been established the individual begins to transform their way of thinking. The Luciferian evolves, becomes and life starts to reflect the inner world of this living philosophy. Some will try to be Luciferians to the point of hostility, proclaiming what they are to the point of boredom to the observer. Some will claim they are “Luciferian” so much that they start to believe it, without applying the essence of the philosophy. They might “get it” at some point, yet rarely this is so. You either think like a god or goddess, or you don’t. You either are self-confident with some level of a sense of humor or you take yourself way too seriously.
Luciferians can use the adversarial approach in life to their advantage: this will make you stronger. Take interest in those who offer courtesy and mutual respect: have disdain and look right through the dabblers who will do nothing but irritate and waste your time. Luciferians are akin to gardeners: we must destroy parasitic plants to cultivate the beautiful and worthwhile treasures of that garden.

  • WHAT IS A LUCIFERIAN?

    By Archon Jeremy Crow

How Do You Become A Luciferian?

Begin with obtaining a copy of “Wisdom of Eosphoros – The Luciferian Philosophy” by Michael W. Ford, Jeremy Crow, and Hope Marie. This short book is the philosophical foundation of Luciferianism and a step-by-step guided work towards becoming a Luciferian. When you apply the 11 Luciferian Points of Power in your life, noticing and recognizing the beginnings of self-transformation and all the path entails your awareness of possibility will become known to you. When you have applied on some level the 11 Points, core principles of the Luciferian, you may exalt in the self-emerged light of Lucifer.

Once you read “Wisdom of Eosphoros”,you might realize that you have been Luciferian for quite some time. We have not created a new concept of philosophy; we simply present the ancient streams of wisdom and arcane lore in a logical, vital philosophy of living. Luciferians seek to balance darkness and light; the shadow representing the primal instinct and our carnal desires; the light being the torch of divine consciousness and an intellectual, strong mind. This is fundamental, because Luciferians tend to be very self-deterministic. Notice the specific wording. It does not say that all Luciferians value self-determinism. There is no dogmatic set of beliefs to Luciferianism.

Each Luciferian forges their own personal theory and practise and each is unique. However, there are certain trends that can be detected in the community. Probably the most common trend would be finding inspiration in various world mythologies – especially those that deal with the cosmic rebel and the receipt of forbidden knowledge. Prometheus is an excellent example and has a lot of parallels with the Judeo-Christian myth of the serpent in Eden.

Do Luciferians in the GCOL have to practice Magick?

Luciferians define Magick as causing change internally and externally in accordance with the will; this begins on the level of thought and perception. The more you focus on something, the greater the energy is that you focus into it. There is a combination of Will, Desire and Belief in initiatory circles which composes the triangle of power. The individual may utilize the tools of meditation, visualization and using thoughts, words and actions to cause change in accordance to the will. Luciferians may practice ritual magick if they choose to or simply focus on their thoughts and meditations. There is no designated tradition or culture in Luciferianism, Michael W. Ford and Jeremy Crow are two authors who have presented numerous traditions of which Luciferianism is presented. Don’t worry about ceremony or ritual if you are not interested; use the mind, body and the actions to compel change in your inner and outer world.

    Is Lucifer The Devil?

To answer this you must understand ancient religions, myths and symbols which existed in harmony with nature long before Christianity. The Devil is a symbol of human carnal instincts, desire and the rebel spirit which questions and challenges dogmatic thought and religion. Lucifer is represented as Venus, the morning and evening star; a perfect symbol of balance between the darkness and light.

An Exploration of Lucifer and The Devil in Christian Mythology

The word “Lucifer” pre-exists Christianity. Originally it was a term used by the Romans to refer to the planet Venus when seen as the last “star” visible in the sky as the Sun rises. Another term for this which is even older is “The Morning Star” which symbolically heralds the rising of the Sun – somewhat akin to the symbolism of a rooster. In fact, for a very long time the term Lucifer was often used by Christians to refer to Christ. For an example of this right in the bible, check out Revelation 22:16 where the resurrected and triumphant Christ refers to himself as the Morning Star. There was even an early Church Father who took on the ecclesiastical name of Lucifer when he became a Bishop and nobody at that time would have considered it to be a reference to the devil.

It wasn’t until the year 1611 when the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible was published that the word Lucifer started to become synonymous with Satan. This stems directly from the choice of words used in the English version of Isaiah 14:12-15, which I think is worth quoting:

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds: I will be like the most High.’ Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”

If read in context, this is simply a denunciation of the King of Babylon, who is being compared to the planet Venus in the sky still shining its light after all the other stars have gone dim, but ultimately getting overpowered by the light of the Sun. It’s an analogy used to condemn the King’s arrogance by comparing him to a familiar (daily for about half the year) celestial phenomenon. This is the kind of thing we see many examples of when reading the Greek myths but for some reason overlook when found in the Bible.

This book of the Bible (Isaiah) was originally written in Hebrew, so where does this Latin word come from you may be wondering? The original Hebrew uses the terminology of “The Morning Star” (if translated directly into English) which was their term for the appearance of the planet Venus in the morning. Eventually this was translated into the Latin Vulgate version of the bible where the word Lucifer was used (as it was in the quote from Revelation referring to Christ, and other places, such as 2nd Epistle of Peter, etc… Imagine reading the Latin version of the Bible and seeing Christ referring to himself as Lucifer? It’s right there in Rev 22 if you read the Vulgate!) All the other uses of the word Lucifer were translated into English as Morning Star or Shining One, except this passage from Isaiah. Some contend that this word choice may have actually been a political smear campaign against Bishop Lucifer. The term Lucifer became specifically associated with the devil and Satan when later Christians connected this story with the prophesy of a war in heaven described in Revelation 12:7-9

“And there was a war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”

Even though this text is usually considered by Christians to be a vision of future events to happen around the apocalypse, people came to believe (probably from the influence of Milton) that this particular part of the vision depicted events that had already happened before Adam and Eve were booted out of Eden. Therefore, this is how the Latin word Lucifer became associated in the minds of Christians with the serpent in Eden as well as with Satan.

The word Lucifer itself literally means “Light Bearer” in the original Latin. Light and Darkness have forever been used as an analogy for Knowledge and Ignorance (respectively), the term Light-Bearer therefore refers to the bringing of knowledge. There are undeniable parallels between this concept and the Hellenistic Greek figure of Prometheus, who rebelliously and heroically brought the forbidden fire of the Olympian gods to humanity and taught them how to harness it for all sorts of arts and sciences. Prior to this, Humans were ignorant, animalistic slaves to the gods, particularly Zeus (Jupiter in the pagan Roman pantheon of gods) who was King of gods. Zeus would have rather kept humans ignorant and obedient to him, so being angered at Prometheus he binds him to a boulder or mountain (essentially a large mass of Earth) and sees to it that he is tortured. Prometheus eventually escapes this punishment with the aid of Heracles (Hercules in the Roman myths.)

This is almost the same story of the temptation of Eve by the serpent in Eden. God forbids humanity to partake of the fruit of knowledge, preferring to keep them ignorant servants to tend his garden. The serpent points this out to Eve and she partakes. God is angered that his order has been upset and becomes fearful that humans will also partake of the Tree of Life. If that were to happen, Adam and Eve would not only have the knowledge of gods but be immortal as well. To prevent this from happening, God banishes them from Eden. He also strips the serpent of his limbs so that he has to crawl on his belly in the dirt (another symbol of being Earth-bound, just like Prometheus.) In the biblical book of Revelations, the devil or dragon is eventually unchained from the Abyss, although in the Christian story this is only temporary.

Putting all of this together, including not only the usage of the term before Christianity, during early (before the year 1611 CE) Christianity as well as the further folkloric developments after the KJV was published, they all point to the same force of enlightenment and emancipation from cosmic enslavement through knowledge. Further analysis, of not just these stories, but stories found all through the Bible (think Abraham being ordered to sacrifice his own child, Moses being ordered to commit genocide against the Canaanites in order to establish Zion/Israel, and even Jesus allowing himself to be crucified) paint a very clear picture that the natural physical drives we all possess (the much maligned “animal urges”) as well as the desire for truth and knowledge are all demonized in order to provide an insidious set of controls for temporal authorities to exploit in their quest for power over others. This control system is inherent in the Bible, not simply some twisted interpretation (although that does also occur.)

The Bible itself, however, contains the seeds of its own undoing. Try studying it for the purpose of understanding the effect that is intended upon the readers/believers. You will discover that a better religion would be difficult to create if your purpose is to keep a massive number of slaves under control. Islam, based on the same core scriptural material, is also an effective slave religion. The word Islam itself means Submission to God’s Will, which is revealed in the texts and interpreted by the priest class (of course.) Ever notice how political and religious leaders often give lip service to Christianity or Islam or any other mainstream public religion, but then go and do whatever they want anyways? It’s because they want those who they rule over to believe. It makes these believers more complacent about their role as human cattle. We could use the actual analogy given to us in scripture of the followers as “sheep” requiring a “shepherd”, which of course are the members of the priest class.

In the eyes of most mainstream Christians, Lucifer is currently considered to be a name of Satan or the devil. There is an element of the Gnostic interpretation of Christianity in the manner most self-described Luciferians consider the term Lucifer, but many use the term exclusively or at least primarily in connection with the pre-Christian and sometimes the early Christian usage of the term to indicate liberating knowledge or the force of enlightenment. The term Promethean is a suitable alternate for Luciferian if you do not want to reference a concept that has been influenced by Abrahamic thought. This is the route taken by Percey Shelley. However, many still prefer the more recognizable and, to be frank, the more provocative term “Luciferian.”

Are Luciferians Part of a Global Conspiracy?

We can’t speak for all Luciferians, but the vast majority of Luciferians are not interested in forcing their beliefs on anyone else. This goes especially for the Greater Church of Lucifer. It has been said elsewhere that if through your explorations you decide that any of what are sometimes referred to as Right Hand Path spiritual paths are where you are drawn toward, you are encouraged to explore that fully. On this same note, it should be mentioned that the original Illuminati was against entrenched systems of control, especially the Monarchy and the Priesthood. They were in favour of Democracy.

If you are from a conspiracy theory background you are encouraged to research the history for yourself and to make up your own mind. Luciferians, as Light Bringers, are inherently interested in exposing the Truth at any cost. Those “global elites” spoken of so often are all about concealing information. By the very definition, this is not genuine Luciferian behaviour. In the immortal words of Timothy Leary, you need to think for yourselves and question authority.

    Do Luciferians Worship Satan?

Luciferians do not submit or recognize a greater power outside self! The Luciferian character recognizes the heroic traits of the Milton “Satan” from “Paradise Lost”, a modern mythical work and the ancient legends of ancient gods and the Watchers of the Book of Enoch. These are symbols of the character of the Luciferian, not a literal belief in a “netherworld” of conscious beings.

Luciferians prefer to treat him as a symbol, an inspiration, an ally or a guide depending on how they perceive the world and personal spirituality.

Luciferians must recognize myth from reality, symbol and meaning and when speaking to non-Luciferians, the logic based facts of our philosophy!

Regardless of the mainstream Christian stance on the identities of Lucifer and Satan, most Luciferians consider them to be separate entities. Even those Luciferians who do equate them will typically differentiate between the two terms in some way. Lucifer is a Latin word meaning Light Bearer. This is typically interpreted as representing the force of enlightenment and initiation, Light being a universal symbol of conscious awareness and Truth. Satan is a Hebrew word meaning Adversary. This is interpreted a few different ways. One of the most common in the community is to use Satan to represent an entity which is an adversary to yourself, attempting to keep you ignorant and enslaved. This meaning is often connected with the Gnostic Demiurge. The other main usage of the term Satan involves seeing this entity as an adversary to either God or mainstream morality. This second view of Satan connects it with carnality and hedonism. Those Luciferians who were formerly Satanists will tend toward this carnal definition of Satan.

  • LUCIFERIAN TRAITS

    LUCIFERIAN TRAITS
    By Archon Hope Marie

Maverick – Luciferians are independent minded people, who see things in a way that often goes against the grain of the majority.(unorthodox, non-conformist, free spirit)You question everything.

Achiever– Luciferians have an internal fire burning inside that drives you to make things happen. You like to be challenged and are not satisfied unless you see the challenge through to victory. If it is your will it will be achieved.

Non-Dogmatic– While Luciferians are independent thinkers and certainly have opinions. You recognize and understand that your opinions, beliefs, and principles are not absolute. Luciferians are flexible and as your knowledge base grows, your opinions, beliefs and principles will evolve. They also recognize that it is not necessary for everyone to have the same opinions, beliefs and principles.

Accountable & Independent– Luciferians believe that there is nothing outside the self. Therefore you are the “God” of your world. Everything is within your power. You are responsible for your life’s failures as well as credited for your life’s successes and victory’s.

Self Reliant– Luciferians are confident in their ability to take care of themselves and you expect others to do the same. You help people that cannot help themselves but only after you and your family’s needs are met. You understand the world is “survival of the fittest” and you and your family come first. You only help those that are able to help themselves by giving them the knowledge and the tools to become self reliant. You do not take care of or do things for the abel, because as a “Luciferian” you recognize that these actions will make them weak.

Intellectual– Luciferians like the mental activity that is brought forth through study, thought and introspection. You are always seeking ways to increase your knowledge base and challenge your thought process. You do not take anything at face value, you research end explore all possibilities to find the truth. You recognize that Knowledge & Wisdom is power.

Tolerant– Luciferians do not hate or judge others for being or thinking differently. You find the common ground that allows you to respect others. We do not attack other religions, principles or beliefs without direct provocation.

Strength & Strategy– Luciferians are confident and show courage even when others do not. You do not use this strength to persecute others, but you do not turn the other cheek. You stand your ground and meet force in equal measure and beyond, when necessary, but only after you have planned and strategized. A Luciferian does not jump to actions or speech but rather methodically calculates and plans before they speak or act.

Balance- Luciferians believe that all things are balanced with both light and dark. The light cannot exist without the dark and vice versa. Good and evil, light and dark are together in everything and everyone and therefore the concept of good or evil, light and dark does not exist. They are both necessary and based on individual perception.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LUCIFERIANISM AND DOGMATIC RELIGION
    LUCIFERIANISM

Maverick– Independent  thinker . Questions everything.
Conformist- Believes in the established beliefs and practices without question.
Achiever– Driven to do things for the satisfaction of achieving things that make your life and those around you better. Does not wait for others to make things happen but rather, it is the individuals will to make things happen.
Serf or Slave Mentality– Is subject to the will of some other controlling force, as a way to gain favor, love or reward. By achieving things for their “God” it is believed that they are under his protection.

Non-Dogmatic– Your beliefs, opinions and principles are not absolute, and it is o.k. for others to have different opinions, beliefs and principles.
Dogmatic– Opinions, principles, beliefs that are laid down as incontrovertible truth. These truths are true for every person and no one and no thing can prove otherwise.
Accountable & Independent– All is found and achieved from within.
Unaccountable & Dependent – Some other supreme being or evil being is responsible for your destiny and life achievements. You can only achieve this destiny through this supreme being . When you need something you ask this supreme being to help you. When you do something wrong, it is blamed on the forces of an evil being.
Self Reliant – Take care of themselves and understand the concept of “survival of the fittest”
Dependent– Believe that the meek shall inherit the world and the strong will be punished by some supreme being.
Intellectual– Questions everything and does not take things at face value.
Faith– Belief in something even when it cannot be proven. Questioning and seeking knowledge outside of the dogma is considered bad.
Tolerant– Accepting of others who are different or who think differently.
Intolerant– They try to change, judge or criticize those that are different, do not fit into or do not agree with their dogmas.
Strength – Will meet force with force when necessary.
Weak – Will turn the other cheek when force is applied.
Balance– The belief that there is no good or evil, light or dark. They cannot exist independent of one another.
Unbalanced– The belief that  good and evil, light and dark are independent of one another.

    DOGMATIC RELIGION
Conformist- Believes in the established beliefs and practices without question.

THE CONCEPT OF DARKNESS AND LIGHT IN LUCIFERIANISM

    By Michael W. Ford

Those interested in the ideology and practice of Luciferianism will discover that what society and modern culture has conditioned them from the earliest years until now is a perception of negative and enslavement of our possibilities in life. Luciferianism is unique in the foundation of thought which has the possibility to awaken, deprogram and re-shape our thought patterns and the exact way in which we perceive the world around us.

Our earliest years of life are strongly shaped by our parents, social media and educational institutions that indoctrinate and create the model of our perception of the world. We learn the sky is blue, the sun is yellow, white is purity, good is what the Christian bible and media tells us it is and evil is put upon our world by the devil who is the enemy of man. It is not our parents’ fault; they too were indoctrinated in this slave mentality.

Humans are consciously aware beings that have a wide range of emotions and passions which drive them. At an early age, it seems to be a part of the human condition to rebel against some type of authority as our perceptions of the world change with experience. Some grow out of this and become potentially successful or at least acceptable within their social structure as good workers, etc. There are those who only degenerate in behavior to being socially destructive to themselves and those around them. Then there are those who perceive there is something more philosophically but after a few years of being ideological rebels, rejecting the religions of blind faith, allows the weight and influence of friends and family to guide them to social conformity.

Luciferians are different. From an early age, we accept and develop strong character, a sense of morals with respect for those we call friends and family; the religious stories and teaching of the Christian bible don’t necessarily match the patterns in nature and the human being; that we can easily understand that people always want to put blame on someone else for their troubles and if given the chance, often act over-selfishly against another. While the Luciferian is not born as such, the mind must have some genetic and developmental conditions which offer potential for the individual to find inspiration, comfort and power in this path.

Luciferianism is not a new invention. Before it was called “Luciferianism” this path and way of thinking was in many Pre-Christian ancient near eastern cultures to varying degrees, often with nobility and the leaders of those societies.  Christianity was at a late date born and soon offered a pipe-dream of peace and bliss at the end of the decaying society of the Roman Empire; an Imperial dream of a martial warriors who soon found that wealth and corruption was superior to social balance. The masses were highly impoverished and had little to look forward to. Christianity offers a reward of bliss to those good sheep who trudged along in life in their culture. Christianity was a tool of control and order with little regard for education, cultural growth or the values of the hero and conqueror from the Hellenistic period.

We are instructed on absolutes at an early age; it is much easier to explain and in turn control when things are either black or white. Gray areas which require often reason and logic can turn against those controlling the populations, thus conditioning the earliest Christian converts in the Dark Ages into illiterate and uneducated idiots (except for the wealthy, noble or priestly families) really worked better than the earliest Church Fathers’ ever dreamed of. By the late Medieval Period, the select few were creating a new age of art and the beginnings of Science, while the Church was repressing and teaching fairy tales for truth, keeping slave mentality stronger than ever.

Generation after generation was told what to think and where they fit in. Like the breed of a dog, we change their genetics by this type of conditioning until they can’t help but accept this way of living. With so many humans, Luciferians are fortunate to be awake but can find the early stages of self-liberation to grow into confusing mental stress if not allowed to perceive differently than before. To accept such, we must find with reason and logic the benefit and result of doing so.

Let us take the concept of Darkness and Light.

In our culture, many commonly perceive darkness as being either ignorance or representing ‘evil’. Light is perceived as both purity and holiness. Those who find an interest in the mainstream edges of the “Occult” world accept and still approach their lives’ with these definitions. Those who find Ceremonial Magick have lessened the absolute; it still is a part of the core of ideology. Anton LaVey’s Satanism was a revolutionary anti-religion in the 1960’s which brought together the foundation ideology from a carnal perspective from which evolved into Luciferianism. A Satanist has a rational self-interest and is happy with indulgence in life; not necessarily a spiritual path or evolution of being. A Luciferian understands indulgence is a foundational human right, yet there is an inner desire for something more.

Luciferianism recognizes that there is balance in nature and within our own existence. Nature has functions for all life forms; evolution continues to select the best to rule or the cunning to survive within their own environment. We can now begin to understand with Science that was evolved into what we are now. Originally, we were life forms which crawled from the waters. We emerged from darkness; just as space surrounds the sun and is all around us. Darkness is also the place of our greatest fears, our hidden selves and primal desires. Darkness is not ‘evil’ or depressive in any way; rather it is the place of rest, meditative control and dreaming. Within our dreams we wrap ourselves in darkness to shape our nocturnal fantasy, inspiring our subconscious minds towards conscious thoughts.

Darkness and the primal instinct is the very seat of our desire and passions; if uncontrolled, however we would act without regard for others in the pursuit of over-indulgence. This is where the concept of light emerges. Light is the conscious, articulated and self-controlled aspect of our selves. We don’t seek the light of some alien deity but rather to focus on our own consciousness. Light represents knowledge, enlightenment and with the experience of what we have learned, wisdom. The darkness is the fire of our desire and passion, rising up and uniting with the light to then be refined, controlled and properly directed to lead full lives and attain our chosen goals and concepts of individual power. The balance of light and darkness is essential in Luciferianism, we recognize we are our own gods; responsible for our successes and shortcomings. We are accountable to ourselves for how we treat others and the core concepts of morals we find to be a part of our consciousness. If you observe the great conquerors of the ancient world – Alexander the Great, the Achaemenid Persians and the New Kingdom Egyptians, all present themselves as bringers of light to their people. They seek to strengthen and evolve their own people and appear as illuminated heroes overcoming chaos. Observe also how they at time acted ruthlessly and destroyed their enemies’ without the weak concept that destroys minds – guilt. You see, this is another fine example of balance. In history, the defeated enemy is always depicted as a vanquished force of darkness, evil as a whole and the victor is representing the force of light and truth. Obviously, history presents us with one sided lies told again and again; when something is told consistently and soon accepted by the masses, it becomes “truth”.

Luciferianism exalts both darkness and light as a balance; duality is a monotheistic falsehood which does not exist in nature. In all beings and within nature itself, there is a cycle of both destruction and creation. From that which is destroyed something new is created upon it. Good and evil are thus the same concept. Anton LaVey defined it as “Good is what you like, Evil is what you don’t like”. As good and evil do not exist, imbalanced and defective people do. Those who steal from others harm the weak or for selfish desire (Luciferianism represents indulgence with healthy discipline) causes suffering to others without sufficient provocation (self-defense, protecting a loved one) are not in some absolute manner, destructive. Simply put they have too many destructive character flaws and are mental unfit for society.

Nothing in this world is black and white; there are different ways of perceiving something and it does matter which side your own concerning what is happening. Luciferianism requires the intelligence and independent strength of character to make decisions based on the experience at the time. Think before acting, if you must defend yourself then do so with guiltless pride. Don’t do things which you will feel guilt for that is in conflict with your core morals as a living individual.

Luciferianism is a path to spiritual self-liberation with the responsibility to be accountable for your present and future. The spiritual freedom is one of the greatest gifts of the symbol we call “Light Bearer”. Do not resist the dark…go forth and master it, that the light shall then serve your well!
